I defined project goals and key features to help drive product strategy. I led the design vision for the company and contributed to product strategy and decision-making.
Problem
Small businesses across Europe increasingly relied on contactless payments – with over 80% of sales already made via tap. However, existing solutions were fragmented, costly, or required additional hardware. MeaWallet needed to deliver an all-in-one mobile app that allowed small business owners to accept contactless payments, manage finances, and operate with flexibilit – without compromising on security or usability. The company had no internal design system or unified product vision in place.
Solution
As the sole designer, I led the full design process:
- Researched the needs of small business owners and staff – through competitive analysis, stakeholder interviews, and market trends
- Aligned with product and business teams to prioritize features: contactless payments, business accounts, team access, refund management, and in-app onboarding. Defined clear product goals that supported both merchant needs and MeaWallet’s market expansion.
- Designed an intuitive, mobile-first interface that let users turn any smartphone into a secure payment terminal. Created flows for onboarding, transaction management, team permissions, and in-app payment training. Ensured usability through iterative prototyping and cross-functional collaboration with engineers.
- Shipped a modern, integrated payment app, featuring fast tap-to-pay capabilities, smart transaction tracking, and team-based access. Designed to scale, the app supports compliance, funding tools, and real-time business insights.
Impact
- Positioned MeaWallet as a modern, competitive solution for Europe’s growing contactless-first small business market
